Manufacturing into the Future
We believe in American manufacturing and operate facilities in the greater Philadelphia area, and Osage, Iowa. Our employees are expert craftspeople, and their decades of dedication prove that operating in the United States is an integral part of our heritage.
The Fox River Mills factory features state-of-the-art improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce its environmental impact. The facility re-uses air and water within its 250,000 square-foot location, saving nearly 27 million gallons of water over the last four years. Fox River Mills has produced socks in the United States since 1900, and celebrates American-made products.
Equipped with 145 knitting machines, the mill in Reading produces many of our products. In 1978, we settled in the greater Philadelphia area as one of several knitting mills in what was once a centralized textile district. Today, this facility remains as the sole mill in operation, as we remain committed to domestic manufacturing.Greater Philadelphia Area
Our new corporate campus is a 115,000-square-foot space in New Jersey’s Airport Industrial Park on the banks of Cooper River. There socks are finished using six innovative toe-seaming machines.
Our Vision For Sustainability
Sustainable and ethical manufacturing are among our core values. It’s intuitive for us and informs our approach to revitalizing the American textile industry.
It’s important that we source organic, traceable and recycled yarns for use in many of our products, notably QT, a collection of socks crafted completely from recycled materials.
Rather than dispose of remnants, we are on a constant mission to find meaningful uses for unfinished samples. We’ve found both unconventional and traditional ways to repurpose products by donating to local organizations.
Horse rescues use our unfinished knee-high socks as leg warmers for ponies. Finished leg warmers go to dance schools, and we donate socks to shelters providing essentials for homeless citizens, veterans and domestic violence survivors.
Purposeful practices are in our DNA. Our vision for the future includes increased attention toward sustainability as we discover opportunities to become more efficient.
